Alain Mabanckou is an essayist, poet and novelist. All of his work has been crowned by the French Academy (Henri-Gal 2012 Grand Prize for Literature). In 2015, he was professor of artistic creation at the Collège de France. He currently teaches literature at the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA). He is notably the author of Broken Glass , Pointe-Noire Lights and Petit Piment .
